Battles/wars | Cedronian Civil War |
Khorvash Vaziri, also known as Vash, is the half Astrakhan half Tovak POV of the Shadow of the Sun and has/will fight for three separate armies during the Cedronian Civil War, with them being the Free Legions of Urius, the Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of the Communes, and the Imperial Legions of Cedronia. Being born to farmers in the Celestial Hegemony, Vash grew up knowing little of the outside world other than his religion and the land surrounding him. After the occupation and formation of the Celestial Asharan State of Southern Cedronia Vash's family moved to newly ocquired state in an attempt to become wealthy landowners. While there, Vash and his family are attacked by slavers from Urius. While Vash's younger sister is able to escape, him and his second-oldest brother, Darin are captured. Vash is forced to kill his parents but before he can do that, Darin kills them in order to save Vash from doing it. Darin is put into Urius's Slave Legions while Vash is forced into working in the mountain mines.
After a few months of being in the mines, Vash learns that his brother was killed. In a fit of anger, Vash begins to lash out at his slave handlers and being impressed by his raw skill, he is put into the Slave Legions to replace his brother. Vash is then given the drug, the Red Dust and sent to fight enemies of the Free State. After a few battles, Vash participates in the Battle of Arausio. After Urius's defeat during the battle, Vash is "liberated" by the Commune and sent to the Commune's professional army due to his year of fighting experience. Vash is captured by the Imperial Legion after they retake the river city of Helinius during the Fourth Battle of Helinius. Due to manpower shortages after the costly battle, Vash is forced to work in a Penal Legion where it is expected he will die due to the almost suicidal tendencies of the Penal Legion's Legate. Vash miraculously survives battle after battle, with his legend quickly spreading. Eventually, Vash leads a rebellion against the Imperial Legions which is stopped only after he and Dustand Kandel have a conversation.
